According to the decision of the Council of People's Commissars of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic of October 14, 1937, the Regional Library College was organized in the city of Sterlitamak. In the first year, 105 people were accepted.

After the outbreak of war in 1941, the library college was closed, and the building and property were transferred to the military department.

After 3 years, by decision of the People's Commissariat of the RSFSR, it was decided to reopen the library college, but already in Ufa. The Library College together with the Construction College resumed work in the old building of school number 6 on Gorky Street (now Sochi).

In the fall of 1989, due to the accident of the building, the library college was transferred to the educational building of the Ufa branch of the Moscow Technological Institute on 24 Bakalinsky Lane (now - Aknazarova Street).

On May 19, 2003, by an order of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan in connection with the liquidation of the state unitary enterprise Shopping Center Bashkniga (at 18 Krasnovodskaya Street), the complex of buildings and structures was transferred to the Ufa Library College. The college is still located in this building.

On August 15, 2005, by an order of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the library technical school was renamed the State Educational Institution of Secondary Professional Education of the Republic of Bashkortostan " Ufa College of Librarianship and Mass Media».

During the period from 1937 to 2012, more than 14 thousand graduates graduated from the college.

The college was run by excellent organizers, experienced business executives, directors E. I. Sosulin, F. I. Kryukov, R. S. Enikeev, S. V. Galeev, A. I. Yudin, S. G. Gainiev, M. G. Mullabaev G. G. Salikhov. From 2003 to the present, the college staff is led by Amir Radikovich Zainagov, candidate of pedagogical sciences.

From 1937 to 2002, vocational training was carried out in the educational institution only in the specialty of library science. In 2002, the specialty “Documentation Support of Management and Archival Studies” was opened, in 2004 - “Management”, and most recently, in 2011, the specialty “Advertising”.

A student’s scientific society “Svetoch” was created at the college, which aims at self-realization of the individual in the scientific space, a vocal ensemble, a folk dance group “Altyn Ai”, a club “Knigolyub”, “Literary drawing room”, and a club are working.

Every year, college organizes and holds contests of professional excellence: for the best reader, cataloguer, bibliographer, clerk, archivist.

Since 2005, the college has its own periodical publication - "Student Gazette", which highlights all pressing issues, the creative achievements of students and teachers.

The college works closely and fruitfully with libraries of all systems and departments, with administrations, archives, military registration and enlistment offices, houses and palaces of culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

 Love for life

Olga EVDOKIMOVA, Director of the Central City Library

MBU Centralized system of mass libraries of the city of Ufa

Some of my most vivid childhood memories are related to my first love of the book. I still feel warm when I pass by a small cozy wooden house with openwork platbands on Novo-Mostovaya Street. A whirlwind of time sweeps away these wooden lace from Ufa streets, and how many of them had soft, quiet beauty and desire to express their love for their home, and behind it stood a love for the fatherland. Here, in this house, the children's library No. 7 was located, and I was its young reader, here I woke up and stayed in my heart for the rest of my life with love for the Book. Now in this house is the Khudayberdin Museum.

How careful was the attitude to the book! We came to the library without fail with a plastic bag (for 7 kopecks). And every time we were reminded that the book needed to be wrapped in newspaper, not to bend pages, not to read it while eating. This has become familiar to readers of the middle and older generations for life.

And there was the impression of some reverent silence. There were a lot of readers, but it was never noisy, only the rustling of turning pages was heard. I see it now: people brought up in respect for the book behave very carefully in the library, talk in an undertone, are in no hurry. A visit to the library for them is a holiday, a pleasure that I want to extend.

In 1983, the Ufa Library College entered my life. It was located on Sochinskaya street, next to the Luch cinema. Two-story red brick building with large windows. At the technical school there was a small garden square in which there was a gazebo, it was in it that I saw my last name in the lists of applicants.

The curator of our group was Antonina Fedorovna Artamonova, a straightforward woman, uncompromising, strict and demanding. From the very beginning, she shaped our characters in such a way that the librarian is “the party’s assistant in the struggle for man,” as sung in the library anthem. Years of study were riddled with ideological education. Now, of course, it is unlikely that any of us will remember the leading role of the Communist Party in the development of library work, but we have learned to be responsible and disciplined. The concepts of “friendship” and “mutual assistance” were not empty words for us.

The first semester was the most difficult. For many of us, the chosen profession was not at all difficult, because we all loved to read. But it turned out that it involves the development of such obscure things as bibliography, library classification, catalog indexes and the like. And what did it take to learn library handwriting and poster work from the ironic Vitaly Mikhailovich Plotnikov ...

And I think I will not be mistaken if I say that the most beloved of all of us were objects of literature: Russian, foreign, and children's. I still remember the lectures of Kaleria Vladimirovna Grigorieva. Always collected, smart, very tactful. With her melodious voice and in-depth knowledge of the writers' creativity (I quoted everything from memory), she literally fascinated us. Not being prepared for her subject was simply embarrassing. But the main lesson that we learned from her lectures was not even so much in knowing the subject itself. On the example of literary heroes Kaleria Vladimirovna taught us to understand life, to be worthy people, to treat everyone with respect.

However, the most important thing (and the worst) was ahead of us - these were readers, whom we very soon encountered in practice. It seemed that, before going to the library, they specially select the most tricky topics, look for unsolicited authors in order to torment us, unsure practitioners. But, in spite of everything, everyone loved the practice, because it was here that we first found ourselves on the other side of the library department.

A lot of impressions were left by the practice in the children's library No. 33. At that time, it was headed by Taisiya Alekseevna Rezyapova, an infinitely devoted person to the library profession. It seems that half of Chernikovka knows and remembers her. Strong-willed, uncompromising, sometimes tough, very demanding on colleagues, readers, but first of all to himself. The library had an ideal order in funds, catalogs and file cabinets, there were no debts. Taisiya Alekseevna knew in person and by the surname of almost all readers, enjoyed deserved respect.

From a technical school, practice was supervised by Lyalya Ismagilovna Nazirova, who taught bibliography. The subject seemed to me too confusing, but Lyalya Ismagilovna presented it with such enthusiasm that she was able to captivate us as well. She was very kind to students, she was always interested in business, mood, tried to cheer up and support, because many were from other cities, and went home only on vacation.

In general, the college had a spirit of respect: freshmen to sophomores, students to teachers, and vice versa. Teachers tried to delve into the lives of students. Today it’s hard to imagine, but we really didn’t want to go home after the lectures, and not because many of them lived in apartments. We were constantly preparing for some evenings, contests, making wall newspapers, rehearsing rooms for concerts. It was considered in the order of things, if you didn’t understand something in the lesson, go to the teacher and understand the topic to the end. We liked to study, it was interesting.

Today, being a member of the commission of the final state certification, I notice that many traditions have been preserved here. The team of college teachers is still trying to educate real professionals who love libraries and readers, people of special warmth.

Our centralized library system has long and fruitfully collaborated with the college. Field trips, conferences, competitions, graduates - all this unites us. But it also combines love for a book, library, profession.

Many scholars believe that it is the ability to speak that singled out a person from the animal kingdom, and the invention of writing allowed him to accumulate wisdom. And therefore, at all times the Book (in any - paper, electronic or any other - version) will be the greatest value for humanity. What a gracious opportunity the collective of college teachers is to be able to put this conviction into the consciousness of future librarians, because they can carry it through their whole lives, passing it on to their readers. And although now such eternal values as love for loved ones and patriotism, kindness and a desire to help one's neighbor are devaluing in society, I think this is only temporary. True moral values are not depreciated. And therefore, our profession, improving and mutating, live forever!

 “Like two wings ...”

Rashit MUKHAMADIEV, Director of the Centralized Library System of Beloretsky District

The library always needed professionally trained personnel. In the newspaper Beloretsky Rabochiy dated September 15, 1937 we read: “The city has a mass city library, a library at the SPKZ, in the Palace of Culture of Metallurgists and many libraries in educational institutions. But does the department of public education know the face of the workers of these libraries, did he convene meetings of library workers, was he interested in raising their qualifications? .. There are no working standards in most libraries. The salary is very low, and competent people go badly for this job. No wonder that the city library cannot find a second employee anywhere ... ”

By the end of the 30s, illiteracy in Beloretsk lost the character of an acute social problem. But part of the population was still illiterate. And the staff of our libraries arranged readings of newspapers, magazines, and stories. In the Beloretsky Rabochiy newspaper from 1937 we read: “The worker Karimov once came to the library on purpose to learn more about Pushkin’s life. I had to spend a couple of hours talking with him. Leaving, he said: "I will send my wife, tell her too."

Almost all of our employees currently have diplomas from the Ufa Library College. They fondly recall Galina Nikolaevna Angarova, a history teacher of the CPSU, strict and demanding in the lessons, but gentle and friendly in the exams; Boris Leonidovich Popov - a talented, with an amazing sense of humor, teacher of scientific atheism, who led a circle of readers.

How about the first teacher graduates of the 70-80s speak about the teacher " Organization of library collections and catalogs»Pavel Petrovich Kochemasov. Still would! After all, he taught them how to draw up catalogs and file cabinets, write in library handwriting!

Especially hard for girls was given such a science as computer science. Oh and fear on them caught up with Boris Dmitrievich Strakhov! They say he even threw a pen ... but he learned it! The SSSTI system remained in their memory for life.

The other day, our young programmer asked: " And what is an electrophone?"How did he know that if today a computer replaces a television, a tape recorder, and a typewriter, and much more ... But there was a time! For events, we installed the Leader electrophones - they were in the form of a suitcase. And they taught us how to handle them in the discipline "Technical means". In the late 80s, this office was run by a young pretty graduate of the Kuibyshev Institute of Culture, Valentina Yakovlevna Bikreva. Now she is the rector of the Ufa branch of FSEI HPE "Chelyabinsk State Academy of Culture and Art."

Books, especially the most read ones, tend to wear out. And here the librarian comes to the aid of knowledge gained from the bookbinding lessons. The specialist in binding technology was the teacher Vitaly Mikhailovich Plotnikov.

In accordance with the requirements of the time, the name of the library technical school has also changed - to the Ufa College of Librarianship and Mass Communications. And in the press, new “smart” words, scientific theories, continually appear. For example, we meet: " A modern teacher is a moderator, trainer, tutor ...". Or: “A tutor is one who organizes the conditions for folding and implementing the student’s individual educational trajectory.” Easier: a consultant, mentor, curator of a student who helps him organize his education. But in UBT there have always been such tutors! Venus Mansurovna Kudasheva, Raila Shaimukhametovna Khalilova, Galina Vasilievna Lychangina and many others ...

Another priority of the modern teacher, to which attention is paid, is moderation. The moderator educator acts as an intermediary who establishes relationships between students. The purpose of his activity is to help each student to realize their own abilities, enter the world of culture of the chosen profession, and find their life path. The moderators at UBT have always been: Valentina Nikolaevna Lygina, Tatyana Alekseevna Vorontsova, Asiya Fakhrazievna Kurmangulova ...

Now libraries play an increasing role in the formation of social harmony and stability, in socialization, in the development of the intellectual potential of people. Some experts believe that soon traditional Russian bookstores may not remain in Russia: if libraries do not develop and look for new ways to attract readers, then they can die out as a rudiment. It is a fact that yesterday's readers began to turn less to print publications, read less, and therefore think, draw independent conclusions and make decisions. The residual principle of library financing, the low salary of librarians - all this negatively affects the prestige of the library profession.

In our republic, fortunately, there is the Ufa College of Librarianship and Mass Communications - without exaggeration, one of the best in Russia. And real librarianship patriots work in it, enthusiastic and caring people who themselves are in constant search, do not stop there and “infect” industry experts with their creative energy. Our community covers various spheres - professional development, library competitions, conferences, and, of course, personnel training.

The main thing that distinguishes the glorious college staff is the unbreakable connection with us, the public libraries of the republic. People say: “A big ship is a big voyage”, especially if its erudite and brave captain Amir Radikovich Zainagov and his wonderful assistants L. A. Mareshova, G. M. Kireeva and M. S. Titova are at the head. They are always up to date with all the events taking place in the libraries.

The future of libraries is inextricably linked to the future of college. We - libraries and college - are inseparable partners.

 Eternal Profession - Library

 Dina FATKULOVA, college methodologist

Along with many professions, there is one, at first glance invisible, but very important in its purpose. This is the profession of a librarian. Some will say that this is already unfashionable, out of date, and the librarian’s salary is low. But I do not agree with this opinion. Young people who choose this profession today can realize themselves not only in the library, but also in other fields of activity: whether it is an information center or a bookstore, a school or a House of Culture, the administration of a city or district, or other self-government bodies.

The future librarian! .. His road to professionalism is not easy. How subtly he should feel, how much to know and be able to!

The origins of the librarian profession come from the distant past. The first librarians were from the caste of priests and possessed the secrets of knowledge and writing, kept the first collections of texts that reflected the achievements of human thought, and therefore held a high position in society. Later, librarians (scribes, book keepers, antiquaries) - philosophers, scientists, poets. Initially, this was not so much a position as an honorary title. In the Middle Ages, the title of librarian was equated with the rank of state chancellor, in medieval Vatican he was in charge of papal affairs.

Since the beginning of the 17th century, the basic professional requirements for a librarian have been developed: he must be an encyclopedist, polyglot and possess extensive knowledge in the field of literature and history. The post of librarian in Russia was first identified by Peter I. It was then that the definition of the concept of “librarian” appeared - this is “the person to whom the library is entrusted. It must be of many sciences and different languages ... a learned, and also a diligent reader, of solid memory and keen reasoning, for he must know the quality at the beginning of any book ... ” Due to the high requirements for the profession in the XVIII century, only professors were appointed to the post of sublibrary librarian. Only in 1913 they began to teach professions: Lydia Khavkina opened library courses at the A. Shanyavsky People’s University.

Today, librarians, bibliographers, librarians, technologists of automated information resources, referential analysts of information resources, and managers are leaving the walls of secondary professional and higher professional educational institutions.

One of the six secondary professional institutions of the Russian Federation that train librarians is the Ufa College of Librarianship and Mass Communications. Today, the college is a modern educational institution that provides training in several specialties. But the main specialty is “library science”, which gives young people the opportunity to receive a unique liberal arts education.

Being a college graduate, working in his library for many years, I am glad of my involvement in such a unique profession as a librarian, and I am proud of it!

Vladimir Tereshin, a scientist, specialist in the field of library science, library collections, the author of many scientific publications, monographs, and educational publications, wrote wonderful lines about the library profession:

 This specialty is not easy.

And always appear boldly in it

 Friendliness, participation, kindness

And knowledge that knows no bounds.

In libraries, readers can learn a lot by drawing from the inexhaustible source of Russian cultural heritage contained in the book. And although there are many problems in the activities of libraries, in the long run they should remain a special spiritual, moral, informational environment, where the librarian is an intermediary between a person, science, culture and education, an assistant in the process of forming an information worldview.

 Such is he, the librarian!

Raila Halilova, teacher, Honored Worker of Education of the Republic of Belarus

Three holy professions - a teacher, a doctor, a librarian ... The latter stands at the origins of wisdom, knowledge, curiosity. This is he - the keeper and guide, the interlocutor of many books and magazines. This passing word sometimes defines for the reader both addiction and hobbies for life.

The library, of course, is not a temple, but is there no rite in the reading rooms in the evening, when people, yearning for their dreams and dreaming of meetings, nevertheless give a fraction of their time to a conversation with the past and present, hidden in thick folios? Scientists are born here, generations meet here, even love arises here, flowing with the energy of glances over books and lamps.

Society should “recognize that if one in three or even five turns to libraries, the benefit is still universal, for the knowledge acquired by these people is scattered and becomes the property of all, regardless of whether it is acquired by a scientist, poet, schoolchild or homemaker "(G. Fonotov, scholar-librarian). Therefore, the outstanding Russian teacher N. Chekhov argued that the school and the library "are equally beneficial."

A modern library in a developed country is not a repository of dusty books, brochures and magazines, but a cultural institution that gives any citizen the opportunity to receive information using the latest equipment. Here there are not only printed, but also electronic books, various information systems, cartoons, videos, electronic chess ...

You will say that there are not many such libraries, but they are being created! And ahead of progress is the librarian. The collector and keeper of eternal values, "the memory of generations." The person is unusually erudite and sociable, generous, giving accumulated knowledge to everyone who is called a reader. Academician D. Likhachev, an undoubted friend of librarians, said: “You cannot see a simple assistant to a scientist in a librarian. The librarian is the scientist himself. But only he does not work on one, and, moreover, his own theme, but on many other people's topics. This is a scientist who gives himself entirely to others. ” Agree, the rating is high!

A librarian today is an intellectual and intellectual, an employee of the information industry, always ready to provide everyone with the necessary information. Grains of truth and good sprout sooner or later.

This is it, the librarian!
