The regional state budgetary vocational educational institution "KHABAROVSK ROAD TECHNICUM" educational institution with a long history, was formed on the basis of the order of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of the RSFSR of July 2, 1968, No. 194, and until November was based in the premises of the Polytechnic Institute, then moved to the school body. The first admission to the full-time and part-time department in the specialty "Maintenance and repair of automobile transport" and "Operation of automobile transport" on the basis of an incomplete and complete secondary school, amounted to 250 people. Then the specialties “Construction and operation of roads and airfields” and “Operation of hoisting-and-transport, construction, road machines and equipment” were opened. Over the years the college has trained more than 10 thousand specialists. College specialists work in all road-building and production enterprises of the Far Eastern region: from Baikal to Kamchatka, from Primorye to Yakutia.

To develop practical skills in a technical school, a technical training station, a training road construction site were created. Classes are held on the most modern equipment in specialized classrooms and laboratories. Teachers and masters completed internships at leading domestic and foreign enterprises in the industry.

Students who successfully master secondary vocational education programs are paid a scholarship. Nonresident students are provided with a place in the hostel. It offers students dining rooms, a library (including an electronic library), sports and gyms, and self-study classes.

Khabarovsk Road College (KhADT) was established by order of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of the RSFSR of July 2, 1968 No. 194.

The main task is to train highly qualified personnel for road transport, road bridge and airfield construction, the road construction machinery industry, in the conditions of humanization of secondary technical education, including the upbringing and development of a socially active and creative personality of a future specialist.

The technical school trains specialists in five specialties: "Construction and operation of roads and airfields"; "Maintenance and repair of motor vehicles"; “Technical operation of hoisting-and-transport, construction, road machines and equipment”; “Insurance business” “Service in transport”.

The college staff is constantly expanding the range of educational services provided to students and the public. In 1998, by order of the Federal Road Agency, the technical school became a center for advanced training and retraining of personnel for the road transport complex of the Far East with an annual graduation of up to 200 people. Today, the technical school is the basic institution for the training of drivers of vehicles in the Far Eastern Federal District. The number of students reaches 2000 students per year.

Much attention is paid to improving the educational and material base: a fleet of road-building equipment and training vehicles for 30 units has been created and updated, a sports and fitness complex of 4 rooms, a hostel for 537 places; There are 50 certified workplaces for dismantling and installation practice, 2 racetracks, 9 computer rooms, a local computer network of 100 PCs and two training servers. Classrooms and laboratories are equipped with computers, telephone communications, there is equipment for the maintenance, repair and diagnostics of automobiles, for conducting geodetic, geological locksmith and machine tools and more.

The educational process is constantly being improved. One of the first in the region and industry, the college began to develop psychological assistance to students. In the college there are centers: psychological, marketing research, to promote the employment of graduates. The pride of the technical school was the volunteer detachment, which oversees two orphanages, the social living room of the Municipal Public School No. 44 and the house of veterans of the Krasnoflotsky District.

Much has been done to develop social partnerships. Since 2000, the College of Trustees has been operating at the college, which includes many organizations and enterprises of the road industry of the Far Eastern Federal District. Representatives of organizations contribute to improving the quality of training of graduates, primarily by providing places for practical training. The Board of Trustees allows you to build long-term relationships with social partners in the region and in the Khabarovsk Territory.

Training of specialists in the technical college is carried out in full-time and part-time forms of training in 5 specialties. On the proposal of the scholarship commissions, full-time students who are successful in all subjects receive a scholarship.

The college has a team of like-minded people, which combines experience and youth, professional and pedagogical training, about 20 teachers have honorary titles, the highest and first qualification categories.

Thanks to the entrepreneurial spirit of the administration and the high professionalism of the staff, budget financing is more than half supplemented by income from various activities. Each year, 250 graduates go into independent life, having a diploma in specialty and certificates of receipt of two or three professions, which allows them to quickly adapt to the labor market.
