Weekends and holidays 2015
According to the production calendar 2015, non-working holidays in Russia (approved by Article 112 of the Labor Code) will be the following days:
- January 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 - New Year holidays;
- January 7 - Nativity of Christ;
- February 23 - Defender of the Fatherland Day;
- March 8 - International Women's Day;
- May 1 - Holiday of Spring and Labor;
- May 9 - Victory Day;
- June 12 - Day of Russia;
- November 4 - Day of National Unity.
If the public holiday falls on a day off, then it is postponed to the next working day after the weekend. For example, in 2015, International Women's Day March 8 falls on Sunday, so the day off is postponed to Monday, March 9th. On the eve of an official public holiday, work time is reduced by 1 hour, the same for both 40- and 36- and 24-hour five-day workweeks (part 1 of article 95 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation). If the holiday falls on Sunday, then the working hours on Friday are not reduced by one hour. In 2015 there will be 5 such pre-holiday days in Russia: April 30, May 8, June 11, November 3, December 31.
The Government of the Russian Federation has the right to amend the working calendar for 2015, to transfer non-working holidays to other days in order to streamline the labor process (Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation). So, for example, in 2015, the following weekend transfers are provided:
- from Saturday January 3 to Friday January 9;
- sunday from January 4 to Monday May 4.
Thus, the New Year holidays will continue for 11 days of 2015, from January 1 to 11. On Defender of the Fatherland Day there will be 3 days off: from February 21 to February 23, in honor of International Women's Day - also 3: from March 7 to 9. On May holidays, citizens of the Russian Federation will rest from 1 to 4 and from 9 to 11 of the month. On Russia Day there will also be three days off in a row - from June 12 to June 14. In November, non-working holidays will be only one day - Wednesday, 4th day - National Unity Day.
Norms of working time for 2015 in Russia
The duration of a working day or shift with a 40-hour working week with two days off on Saturday and Sunday is 8 hours, with a 36-hour - 7.2 hours, with a 24-hour - 4.8 hours, on the pre-holiday day it decreases by 1 hour .
