Tomsk Road College. Tomsk Automobile and Road College. Branch office in Barnaul

According to the State Archive of the Tomsk Region, the beginning of the history of the TADT dates back to the 1920s, when the initiation and creation of the Tomsk Construction College, an educational institution of the 2nd level of education took place. This was largely predetermined by the requirements of that time, the beginning of the era of industrialization in the country.

In 1930, on the basis of the construction department of the Stroytekhnikum, another, new independent Tomsk technical school was created - the Tomsk Road Technical School, designed to train specialists in the construction and operation of roads. The training system also included the training of specialists in automotive technology used in the construction of new roads.

The Tomsk Road College of the West Siberian Road Transport Administration of the territorial authority of the NKVD of the USSR was soon reorganized into the Tomsk Automobile and Road College (TADT) of the same department. During these years, the technical school was located in the building at the modern address of 119 Lenin Ave.

TADT was valid until 1942, when it was reorganized into the Tomsk Road Mechanical College. From the very beginning, in the mass consciousness, the name of the educational institution was fixed in a simplified form: Road College ...

In 1964, the educational institution was reorganized again and became the modern Tomsk Automobile and Road Technical School (second formation). For this educational institution, in the western part of the 2nd microdistrict, at the intersection of Suvorov Street and Karsky Lane, the buildings of educational and production facilities were specially built, in the 1970s a student dormitory was built here.

Until 1979, the TADT was under the jurisdiction of the Office of Educational Institutions of the Ministry of Construction and Operation of Roads of the RSFSR. Since 1979, the technical school was part of the system of the Office of Educational Institutions of the Ministry of Roads of the RSFSR, then part of the training units of the Ministry of Transport of the RSFSR. From 1995 to 2004, the TADT was administered by the Federal Road Service of the Russian Federation.
