The main task of schools, gymnasiums and lyceums is the comprehensive development of students and the provision of gifted children the opportunity of in-depth study of various subjects. Taking part in various student olympiads, children can not only demonstrate their knowledge and gain invaluable experience, but also secure a place in one of the best universities in the country.

Among the numerous contests for gifted youth, Our Heritage Olympiad deserves special attention, which will be held 15 times in the academic year 2018-2019.

General information about the Olympiad

The Open All-Russian Intellectual Olympiad “Our Heritage” is a successful project developed by the staff of the Orthodox St. Tikhon Humanitarian University in order to improve the quality of students' knowledge in the field of Russian history and culture.

Students of grades 1–11 can take part in the competition. Naturally, tasks of the corresponding difficulty level are offered for different age groups.

Each year, the organizers offer students exciting new topics for an in-depth study of the history and culture of their native country. So, in the 2017-2018 academic year, these were: for the 1–7 grades - “Library”, for the 8–11 grades - “Russia from 1868 to 1918”. For 2018-2019, the following topics are proposed:

  1. “Volga Region” (history of cities, sights, monuments, etc.);
  2. "Crafts and crafts" (covers all regions of the Russian Federation).

The Olympics includes 4 main types of tasks:

  1. tests
  2. crossword;
  3. logical tasks;
  4. brain ring (team tour).

On the way to the top, participants will have to complete 4 face-to-face tours:

  • school;
  • municipal;
  • regional;
  • final (final).

As a level III Olympiad, the competition provides winners with benefits when they enter the best universities in Russia. The degree of gravity of such a diploma is determined by the university, depending on the specialty.

Pupils of schools that have officially applied for on the site ovio.pravolimp.ru, as well as preschoolers and students, will be able to participate in the 15th Olympiad “Our Heritage 2018-2019”. It is worth noting that everyone will be able to try their strengths and demonstrate a high level of knowledge in the field of Russian history, regardless of the citizenship of the Russian Federation.

We draw attention to the fact that regional (school) organizers register for the city tour of students, and the participant must independently submit an application for the final round, attaching the relevant documents to it!

Innovations of the 2018-2019 academic year

Since the competition is very popular and the number of participants grows annually, the management is constantly working on its development, developing new interesting tasks and introducing interesting ideas.

In 2018-2019, such innovations are planned in the conduct of the Our Heritage Olympiad:

  1. The division of the tasks of the final stage into 6 blocks (now separately for students in grades 5-6 and 7-8).
  2. Creation of the parent committee of the Olympiad (innovation at the stage of open discussion).
  3. An opportunity for parents to participate in the final rounds on a volunteer basis.

The innovations adopted last year will remain relevant in the new season, such as gifts from participants for other teams and attracting schoolchildren to charity events.

Organizational matters

The first stage in the preparation of the Our Heritage Olympiad for the academic year 2018-2019 is the compilation of interesting and at the same time diverse tasks that allow you to reveal the topics chosen as a basis as deep as possible. Everyone can join the drafting of tasks. To do this, you must:

  1. Register on the site ovio.pravolimp.ru.
  2. Get acquainted with the requirements of the organizers for each type of question.
  3. Study recommended literature.
  4. Create your own set of tests, questions, logical tasks and ideas for the brain ring.
  5. Attach a properly designed file using the site tools.

All participants whose work will be approved by the jury and will participate in the Olympiad will receive personal certificates on September 1, and the authors of the best assignments will receive diplomas of the Laureates!

Subtleties of preparation

All olympiad tasks are compiled in accordance with the school curriculum and the age of the participants. But, as with any other Olympiad, participation in the Our Heritage competition requires systematic training for students.

Experienced teachers, whose students each year take places in this competition, recommend:

  • Read the literature recommended by the contest organizers.
  • Parse past assignments.
  • Refresh knowledge from the school curriculum on specific topics.
  • Actively develop the mind, the ability for analytical and critical thinking.
  • Learns to interact effectively in a team.

Remember! There is nothing “impossible”, just “impossible” takes a little more time. Strive to the top and you will certainly succeed!

F.I.____________________________________ Class ___________________

All human wisdom is stored in books, and books are stored in libraries. “Biblion” in Greek means “book,” and a library is a book depository. Libraries are different: personal and state, educational and scientific, school and city. There are special libraries dedicated to any branch of knowledge: historical, medical, polytechnic, pedagogical, agricultural.

The first public library in Russia (that is, where anyone could go) was the Public Library (now called the Russian National Library) founded in 1795 and open to readers in 1814 in St. Petersburg. She was allowed to attend "all decently dressed citizens" three days a week with
9 a.m. and before sunset.

Now in this library about 3 million books.
Since 1811, when each new book was published, one copy is sent to the library and it is called the “required copy”. More than 100 countries of the world receive books in this library.

Another great library is in Moscow. This is the Russian State Library. She is the main library of our country, the books in it are almost
40 million. Ancient manuscripts are also kept here. There are books above a meter. Yes - the size of a postage stamp. There is the longest book - the Chinese dictionary, and the thickest - the English dictionary of 8 thousand pages. The primer, according to which Tsarevich Aleksey, the son of Peter I, is also kept in this library.

Every day, one and a half thousand new books arrive in the main library of the country. Several hundred librarians put them on the shelves, and the total length of the shelves is 300 kilometers (about half the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg!).

It’s difficult to find the right book in such a library - it would take 10 years to just sort through all the books. But if you ask for the book you need, you will definitely receive it. And there is no secret in this - just every book has its own - very accurate! - address.

The text is taken from the site "At the desk" (http: //xn----7sbbzn3afjs.xn--p1ai/publ/poznaem_mir_vmeste/ detjam_o_kulture / kakie_byvajut_biblioteki / 97-1-0-5151)

School Olympiads - various competitions that provide an opportunity to find the most powerful students at the school, local and regional levels. In conclusion, such a competition becomes All-Russian. Needless to say, at the moment few people know the main advantages of similar competitions, besides almost no one ever talks about the benefits that any participant of the competition should hope for.

Today in Russia there is a fairly large list of various Olympiads, each of which has its own list of advantages. Our heritage is considered one of the most important events for students, so in the future we will focus on it.

All-Russian Olympiad Our Heritage 2017–2018: main tasks

The claimed Olympiad is considered to be of paramount importance in intellectual terms, because today it is in great demand among students across the country. Like any such event, the announced Olympiad has a list of its goals and objectives.

2. Team and individual standings, which simultaneously take into account the results of all participants.

3. Accessibility of the competition for interested representatives of grades 1–11, regardless of the level of training.

4. The competitive part for elementary school students. The basis of the process are the adapted tasks of senior pupils for a couple with the additional capabilities of the applicants themselves.

5. Tour for preschoolers.

The most popular topics of the Olympiad

Among the list of the most interesting topics proposed by the organizers of the event, which also showed very good results at the national level, the following examples are considered.

1. "The history of the family - the history of Russia."

2. "65th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War: school, students and teachers during the Second World War."

3. "Museum and school."

4. "The military and spiritual strength of Russia: the Battle of Poltava."

5. "Orthodox holidays", "Romanov Dynasty."

7. School tours conducted in the direction of “Monasteries in History”. True, each of the educational institutions chose their own specifics of the provided area, depending on their personal wishes.

Competition Order

According to the current, previously established and spelled out in the charter of the Olympiad regulations, the following features of the competitive component are highlighted, together with the procedure for its implementation.

1. Our legacy is held within the deadlines set by the Central Organizing Committee. Their list is posted on the official website of the event organizer.

2. The Olympiad consists of 4 separate stages, each of which has a personal list of features. This is a school, municipal, regional and final or final step. Usually, only participants who are the winners of the regional stage, according to the quota of the established rules, are entitled to get to the last level of the Olympiad.

3. The results of the competition are based on the individual indicators of each individual participant. If any student does not agree with the announced result, he has the right to appeal, the results of which will be an additional verification of the work provided to the commission.

4. The winner can be any participant of the Olympiad, who is awarded as a result with a diploma of the 1st degree. Winners receive the same awards, only 2nd and 3rd degree.

5. A complete list of all the winners and prize-winners of Our Heritage can be found on the official website of the founder of the event.
Organizers of the Olympiad in 2018

One of the main initiators of the described event is considered to be the St. Tikhon Humanitarian University, together with the methodological group of the All-Russian Competition on the Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture, as well as an informal national association of students, graduates and teachers of "Keepers of sources".

In conclusion, it remains only to add that Our Heritage Olympiad 2017–2018 is the All-Russian competition that presents a great opportunity for each student to evaluate their own knowledge and skills in practice, as well as coordinate further actions to meet the requirements noted earlier. I would like to hope that in just a few years every Russian school will have its winners or prize-winners of such a significant event.
