The Russian State Technological University named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky was founded in 1932. It has a name in honor of the great Russian scientist Konstantin Eduardovich Tsiolkovsky

Faculty of Aerospace Design and Technology

The Faculty of Aerospace Design and Technology is a unique faculty of this university. There are very few universities in the country with graduating specialists in the aerospace industry. And in the age of digital technology and the conquest of space, the country needs specialists who will allow Russia to maintain a leading position in space. MATI trains space engineers in many specialties. MATI graduates are engaged in space telecommunications, design, creation and testing of aircraft, the design of life support systems for space stations, the problem of ultra-long-range flights and the calculation of satellite orbit and their trajectories.

The international cooperation

MATI is happy to host students from other countries. Also at this university has a staff of foreign teachers who share experiences with Russian colleagues. For students, all conditions for learning and equal opportunities are created for both Russian children and foreigners who want to study in.

The Russian State Technological University named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky actively collaborates with foreign institutes and companies in the field of development and construction of various devices and their control systems. Since the aerospace industry is very dependent on the materials available for construction, MATI actively cooperates with both Russian and foreign universities in the metallurgical and composite fields. For the accuracy of calculations and modeling the behavior of aircraft in both air and airless environments, MATI collaborates with leading planet. The aerospace industry should be equipped with the latest developments in materials science, aerodynamics, kinetics, and digital technologies.

student life

It is extremely important for students to have not only modern classrooms equipped with the latest educational technology, but also to have places for leisure and sports. The leadership of the institute understands the needs of students and goes to meet them. The administration of MATI provided its students with a huge sports complex, which is able to accommodate everyone who wants to play sports and keep their body in good shape. Also, a culture house is equipped for students, in which student holidays and various events are constantly held. The Institute holds beauty contests, KVNy and other entertainment events..

The history of the creation of MATI is associated with one of the most striking and romantic pages of domestic aeronautics - the design, construction and operation of airships.

The beginning of the 30s ...

The Soviet airship building begins to develop. In 1932, the aeronautical department of the Moscow Aviation Institute was reorganized into the Airship Building Institute. But a year later, it was decided to combine all the aeronautical departments of other universities in the country into a single training center for the young industry - the Airship building training complex (AAC), which, in addition to the institute, also included a aeronautical school.

In the early 40s, airplanes finally replaced the airships and completely conquered the sky. In order to train personnel for the developing aviation industry on June 17, 1940, by a joint decision of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR and the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks on the basis of the Moscow Institute of Engineers of the Civil Air Fleet named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky created the Moscow Aviation Technological Institute (MATI) with three full-time faculties: hot and cold metal processing, aircraft engine building technology, and aircraft building technology.

During the reorganization, the name of K.E. Tsiolkovsky was not assigned to the newly created institute. During the years of World War II, MATI not only did not interrupt the training of highly-needed personnel for aviation engineers in the country, but also actively developed. So during the years of evacuation (1941-1943) in Novosibirsk, MATI created the departments: “Foundry technology”, “Technology for processing non-metallic materials”, “Technology for metal forming”.

2009  - The Institute of Military Training was created, which included the Faculty of Military Training and the Military Training Center.

2009  - On the basis of MATI, the Resource Center for Collective Use “Aerospace Materials and Technologies” was created.

2011 - assigned the current name of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “MATI - K.E. Tsiolkovsky. ”

2012  - Departments were created: “Technical regulation and quality assurance of special-purpose products” on the basis of Rosoboronstandart and “Technological support for the reliability of aircraft products” on the basis of UAC.

"Club of cheerful and resourceful"

The "Club of Fun and Resourceful MATI" for more than 40 years brings together the most active and creative people of the university.

The KVN season at MATI consists of two main stages. In the fall, a series of traditional inter-faculty games takes place, where freshman teams and senior teams compete in the ability to joke.

According to the results of the autumn games, the best teams go to the second stage - “The Battle of MATI Team Laureates”, the final of which takes place in early April.

The KVN MATI teams, for many years, have been pleasing with their game not only the Matev audience, but also a wider audience, speaking in the official KVN leagues.

In 2010, the national team of KVN MATI “Mama” became the champion of the Moscow Student League (MSL). According to the results of the Sochi-2011 KVN Teams Festival, the team entered the Central League of Moscow and Moscow Region, as well as the television KVN First League.
In 2013, the young MATI teams “Hmayak Hakobyan”, “Youth Bit” and “Erondondon” took part in the MSL-2 league. The Erondondon team reached the final, and in the coming season of 2014 will try their hand at MSL. In MSL-2 teams “Friday” and “Intime” will fight.

Vocal Studio MATI

In 2014, Vocal Studio MATI celebrates its 10th anniversary. This was not an accidental decision - in the traditions of the university, it was originally the venue for vivid contests and festivals: “Author and Performing Songs” with a personal competition ”,“ My Homeland - Russia ”with a competition between the faculties, which added additional acuteness and excitement to the participants, and kept the tension of the public fans, on which the award of the Audience Award depends.

Classes in the studio are not just entertainment, this is serious work. Vocals are the same sport! Students involved in a vocal studio actively participate in university festivals: “Freshman Day”, “MATI Student Day”, “Tatyana’s Day”, “Minute of Glory”, “Victory Day”, etc. These performances can be compared with competitions and demonstrations performances, and weekly classes in a vocal studio, exercises for the development of breathing, singing, the ability to sing by voice, work with a phonogram and a microphone - with constant and often tedious training of athletes. But it is in the process of constant studies that stable singing reflexes are generated that knock down the inevitable stage excitement.

At MATI, much attention is paid to the creative development of the personality, the ability to work in a team. More experienced singers and artists share knowledge with freshmen.

MATI preparatory courses conduct targeted training of 9th grade students - for the State Final Attestation (GIA); students of 10th, 11th grades, graduates of secondary special educational institutions, as well as other categories of applicants - for the Unified State Exam (USE) in the following subjects:

  • Grades 9, 10 - mathematics, physics, Russian;
  • Grade 11 - mathematics, physics, Russian, social studies, history, English

Classes are held from September 1 to May 31. The agreement with the students implies the possibility of choosing subjects and the start time of training.

Training at MATI preparatory courses is:

  • classes with highly qualified university teachers;
  • systematic study of educational material;
  • in-depth consideration of theoretical questions of the exam;
  • development of practical skills for completing the exam tasks;
  • preparation for participation in Internet Olympiads, in regional and All-Russian Olympiads, winners of which have privileges for admission to the university;
  • methodological and theoretical preparation of applicants for successful study at a university.
