Alexei Viktorovich Efentiev, the son of a hereditary soldier, was born in 1963. Active service took place in the ranks of military sailors. After demobilization, he entered the famous Baku Higher Military Combined Arms Command School, and immediately after graduating from the rank of lieutenant was sent to Afghanistan. During his service in war-torn Afghanistan, Alexei Efentiev went from a platoon commander to the head of an intelligence group. After that was Nagorno-Karabakh. From 1992 to 1994, Captain Alexei Efentiev was the head of the headquarters of a separate reconnaissance battalion in Germany.

Since 1994, Alexey Efentiev in Chechnya. The military unit he commanded was one of the best and most combat-ready units of the Russian troops. The call sign of A. Efentiev "Gyurza" was well known. Gyurza was a legend of the first Chechen war. On his combat account there are dozens of dangerous raids on the rear of the army of militants Dudaev, the assault on Bamut and the lifting of the blockade from the special Coordination Center surrounded in the center of Grozny, when thanks to the heroism of Gyurza many high ranks of the Army and the Ministry of Internal Affairs were saved, as well as a large group of Russian correspondents . For this feat in 1996 A. Efentiev was presented to the title "Hero of Russia".

During his service in hot spots he was awarded the orders "For Military Merit", "Red Star", "Courage", the medal "For Distinction in Military Service of the 1st Degree", two medals "For Military Merit" and other awards and distinctions. A. Efentiev was the hero of numerous television programs on central television channels, and also became the prototype of "Gyurza" in the film "Purgatory" by Alexander Nevzorov.

Taking part in a bloody war, he was not hardened, not embittered. Friendly and open-hearted, he continued to be in love with his work with boyish passion. He categorically refuses all official growths and appointments, considering intelligence as his family, his home.
After the first Chechen war, "Gyurza" pulled into his company more than half of the army, with whom he fought in a separate 166th motorized rifle brigade. Some pulled out of a deep booze, some literally picked up on the street, some saved from dismissal. The "commandos" led by their commander themselves erected a monument to their comrades who died in Chechnya. A granite monument was ordered with our own money, we built a base for it ourselves.

The Chechen militants nicknamed the reconnaissance commanded by Gyurza "mad." In order not to be confused with ordinary infantry, commandos tied black armbands on their heads. They invariably went first and entered the battle, even when the numerical advantage was far from their side. In April 1996, under the belgate captured by the militants, the machine gunner Romka, without stopping firing, point-blank, in full growth, not hiding, went to the firing point, like Alexander Matrosov. The hero died and his comrade Konstantin Mosalev was pulled out from under the fire of the Chechens, whom A. Nevzorov would later show in the film "Purgatory" under the pseudonym "Petersburg".Twenty days later, as soon as the wound is healed, Kostya will run away from the hospital to catch the second Bamut attack. Former policeman, school teacher, grave digger, miner. Who just was not in this frantic intelligence. The war brought them together, people of different professions and ages, like a kind of gambling without end and beginning. A strange thing - they homesick, but barely healed the wounds, they were pulled here again - to drag around the mountains, share with each other a can of canned food, the last cartridge and their own life
Gyurza: “I remember them all. By first and last name. May they remain with me. To some extent, this is our common sin. But they were the best. I have loved them and still love them. Even when they leave this life, nobody takes their place. Someone who came also stands nearby, like them, but no matter how their place is taken. Someone has come, just as close to you as they are, but, as if, you do not take their place ... "

Alex was the last commander of a mad company. Not at all like the cinematic image of the "commando" in Kevlar armor, which the author of the scandalous film "Purgatory" fashioned. Then, in the 95th, Alexei only accepted the company of army intelligence, which became the meaning of his life, his fate. Soon, the call sign “Gyurza” was known to everyone in Chechnya, both ours and the militants, who had appointed considerable money for his head. Even in Afghanistan he was nicknamed "Lesha - the golden hoof" for the fact that where he led his group, there was never any loss on our part. Legends have already formed about his supernatural sense of danger in Chechnya - in his seventh war. In a second he could determine the place where a mine or a shell would fly. He could take a bottle of champagne to the mountains to give the soldier on his birthday.

“There was such a moment that we captured a Chechen, a militant, well, at first we wanted to ... Well, like in wartime ... But a few days later, Andrei himself, who was the most difficult in relation to them, said:“ Come on, commander, let him go that he is our sweetheart? " Nekhai lives - released. Andryukha died at the hands of a sniper in Grozny - a hit in the head. And there was a teacher who taught literature with Russian in a school in the Bryansk region. It’s a little hard for me to recall all this ... But it’s just that their character, scorched by the winds of war, emerges as a real Russian character. "

“At that moment when we released this militant - he was a young 18-year-old guy, at first he thought maybe they would regret my son on such fire roads. To some extent, it seemed to me that I was also the father of this Chechen. I was sincerely he was pleased with a hand on his heart. I let him go and my fighters wished him not to fight in the future. He owes us unpaid debt. I was just shocked, frankly glad that he was a real Russian character. "
Alexei showed his true character in August of 96, when Grozny was in the hands of militants who trapped administrative buildings and a hotel with journalists in a trap. Then, “Gyurza” managed to unblock the passage to the Coordination Center without loss and take people out of there for a day of continuous fighting. And then, when the exhausted scouts were ordered to pull out the infantry from the ambush, the company suffered its most severe losses. Every second was wounded, every third died ...

Now Alexey Efentiev breeds rabbits and dreams of feeding them an army. All that Alexey lives now is children, family and favorite work. Gyurza took off his epaulettes, but retained the belief that his sons would soon take his place in the ranks. Which take turns measuring their father’s uniform, ringing military awards.
“What do you want to become? Like dad, a scout. Sanka - the man is growing ... "

On October 1, 2013, Lieutenant Colonel of the Reserve Alexei Viktorovich Efentiev celebrated his fiftieth anniversary - a man whose life and military path in our country is known to many, but that is also true, many have no idea about this man and his merits to the Fatherland. Apparently, the latter include those persons who make decisions in our country on conferring the titles of Hero of the Russian Federation.

The fact is that Alexei Efentiev is a unique officer of his kind, behind whose shoulders there are so many effective military operations, of which, they say, would be enough for the eyes to receive a good half-dozen of the above-mentioned ranks. Personnel with his participation in military operations in various hot spots fell into dozens of news releases, interviews of Alexey himself and his colleagues were widely represented on RuNet, data on his military merits can be found on the pages of publications read in Russia. But only by a strange coincidence of circumstances, the military exploits of Gyurza, namely such a call sign officer Officer Efentyev had at one time, continue to remain unappreciated by state men, despite the fact that Alexei Viktorovich has already tried four times to present both his immediate superiors and various public organizations. Four times! And all for nothing! An amazing thing ...

One of those military operations for which "Gyurza" was to receive the well-deserved Golden Star of the Hero is the operation to break the blockade of the Grozny Coordination Center in the summer of 1996. The militants then virtually without difficulty entered the city, where rumors had already begun to spread that the Kremlin was going to surrender both Grozny and all of Chechnya in exchange for the so-called "security in the Caucasus." In principle, over time, these rumors were confirmed ...

After the militants entered Grozny, the military situation in the city, according to the participants in those same military operations, began to resemble the Olivier salad. The reason for such a well-defined definition is that the groups of federal troops and the dispersed groups of extremists got mixed up so that there was no reason to talk about observing certain disposition plans. Under such conditions, numerous representatives of the command from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Defense were virtually blocked in the central part of Grozny. People with large stars fell into a ring that contracted with astonishing speed. Together with the officers in the special Grozny Coordination Center of the Federal Forces there were also journalists of various television companies and news agencies.

The situation was complicated by the fact that it was not possible to bring in large forces to the Coordination Center for the simple reason that the militants offered fierce resistance, taking key positions in the area. Under such conditions, an assault group led by Alexei Efentiev came to the aid of people in the ring of fire. By that time, the majority of Chechen fighters already knew exactly what Gyurza was and what threat their unit posed to them (at that time Aleksey Efentiev was a reconnaissance commander of one of the most combat-ready brigades of the 1st Chechen - 166th mechanized infantry). The militants called the reconnaissance itself "frantic" for the reason that Efentiev’s fighters and he himself were ready to rush into battle even when they were opposed by several times the enemy in number, and, most importantly, such a battle was won.

In the photo - Alexey Efentiev (second from right) with his comrades

This time they won by releasing the Coordination Center and releasing a large number of hostages (there are still no exact data on the number of people withdrawn from the ring, but it is known that the Gyurza unit released several dozen). The lightning speed of the operation and its largely positive outcome served as the reasons for introducing Alexei Efentiev to the title of Hero of the Russian Federation. Many support for such a decision of the Gyurza commanders, as it later turned out, was expressed by the numerous released people, including through the media. But the performance was lost in the endless corridors and dark corridors of power buildings. Yes, it got so lost that even the next three attempts to represent Aleksey Viktorovich to the title Hero of Russia (not only for breaking the blockade of the Coordination Center in Grozny, but also for storming Bamut, a unique operation to "hot meet" militants in their own den - covered with "zelenka" mountains) did not succeed.

So why was the Golden Star not handed over to Alexei Efentiev then? There are several versions on this subject. Let’s introduce one of them here. According to it, the plans for the official command of the federal troops, which (the federal forces) in 1996 began to develop their military success on the territory of Chechnya, did not include coverage of the events on the blockade of high-ranking military personnel in the Coordination Center. It didn’t, since then it would have been necessary to explain how groups of militants were able to get to this center in a fairly short time and take it in a fist. After all, the explanations in this case would be reduced to the fact that the people in the center had actually surrendered, hoping for future agreements with the militants, and these agreements, as practice later showed, turned out to be (at least from the side of Maskhad residents) nothing more than a diploma. And so - before the Russian leaders loomed the famous “Khasavyurt world”, which subsequently entered Russia as one of the darkest and, to tell the truth, shameful pages.

Apparently, attempts to “wash off” their costumes and uniforms by the then top leadership of the state turned out to be higher than the recognition of the merits of a Russian officer. The “big wash” was, undoubtedly, more important than the “some kind of” Russian officers who risked their lives, saving the lives of other people. And here, you see, there is also the inauguration of President Yeltsin, who entered the second term after the election, the results of which were far from unambiguous, as the official statistics of the Central Election Commission testify to this. In general, what kind of Golden Star of Gyurse is there, when those in power needed to save their own “stars” in the first place ...

Well, yes, okay - that was, as they say, a completely different era. Since then, a lot of water has flowed, the country's leadership has completely changed. Officer Efentiev became more than a successful landowner, taking up the revival of a collapsed state farm in the Voronezh region along with his former colleagues (if the word "former" is generally appropriate here). By the way, a real man, he is real everywhere - even in battle, even when cultivating the land and growing bread: from the moment the lieutenant colonel retired to the said state farm, this agricultural enterprise (with the new name Donskoy LLC) has turned into a developed farm supplying agricultural products to consumer tables are far from just the Voronezh region. Residents of the village of Bogdanovo, Ramonsky district, in which Donskoye LLC is located, call it the "village of special purpose", referring to those combat guys who practically restored the economy from scratch. They restored it as officers: with discipline, with a ban on a “work scale”, with sports fields built on one’s own money, and a restored medical center.

So - a lot of water has flowed, and the cart with the unassigned title of a hero to the true hero Efentiev without any doubt is still there ... What prevents the current authorities from raising the personal file of a fighting Russian officer and studying it in detail, which prevents him from taking into account the opinion of Gyurza’s comrades and those people whom he and his fighting friends brought alive and unharmed out of hell? Is there really such interference? I would like to know in which particular rooms such two-legged “hindrances” are sitting today, so that justice can still be restored.

We congratulate Alexei Viktorovich on his 50th birthday, and we hope that he will celebrate his next birthday in a uniform, on which the Golden Star will be attached by the hands of representatives of the authorities as evidence of recognition of the merits of this heroic person.

Gyurza is an excellent hunter. First she waits for her victim on the ground or on some tree. As soon as the careless animal approaches the reptile, it makes a lightning-fast throw, grabs and no longer lets go of its prey.

During the first Chechen campaign, Bamut remained the main outpost of the militants for a long time. "Bamut - Russians will never take!" - this expression, like a spell, was repeated in Grozny markets, wrote on the walls of houses, chanted from the crowd. Bamut is a stronghold! Bamut is a symbol! Bamut is faith! Three times, Russian troops approached Bamut, and three times was a failure. Leaving after a multi-day assault, as they say, “on the forehead”, burning equipment, dozens of dead and wounded ...

At that time, General Shamanov made the opposite decision. The Czechs are used to the fact that Russian units in this war are advancing, as if by a learned pattern - along roads, on equipment in open places, exposing themselves to the fire of Chechen grenade launchers, flying into ambushes and, as a result, incurring losses. With this in mind, the Chekhov defense was also built in front of the valley and to the roads. But the military this time acted differently.

The troops deployed directly in front of the defense front, thereby distracting and misleading the militants, demonstrating "habitual stupidity", but at the same time not exposing themselves to the mortal fire of the Chechens. And through the mountains, bypassing Bamut, special assault and assault units of motorized rifle brigades advanced with reconnaissance and special forces companies reinforced. The Dudaevites, who had previously believed that forests were their fiefdom and felt completely safe there, were simply stunned by the appearance of soldiers in their seemingly safest place. They did not expect and did not believe. It could not be like that. Of course, for the militants it was a shock when on the forest paths and roads along which caravans with necessary goods went, in places of “lying” and “caches”, they suddenly stumbled upon the Russians, who began to mow down those who did not understand, relaxed, lost their vigilance "warriors of Allah." Hundreds of them died in these forests, without realizing what had happened.

The result was a panic. Those few "spirits" who survived in ambushes, in fire bags, rushed back to Bamut, reporting on the Russian "special forces" who had flooded the forests, about the "hordes of apostates" walking along the forest paths. The front so long held on collapsed. As expected, in this situation, each of the militants thought only of himself, of his own skin. In a panic, both equipment and ammunition were abandoned. "Warriors of Allah" scattered through the forests, trying to seep through the barriers and ambushes. For the Russian army it was a victory, competent and decisive. For the Chechens, this was the collapse of their last hope, the last outpost.

On the fourth day of fighting, scouts of the 166th motorized rifle brigade hoisted the Victory Banner over Bamut. To the complete disgrace of the militants, Bamut himself was taken virtually without a fight. Horror and panic fettered their desire for resistance. On May 25, 1996, it was all over. Dudaevsky Bamut fell.

One of the heroes of the famous assault was a short, well-shot major, intelligence director of the 166th motorized rifle brigade, Alexei Efentiev, whom many knew by his radio call sign - Gyurza. It was Efentiev who was at the head of the assault detachment, bypassing the militants from the rear ...

The failed Hero of Russia is currently raising rabbits and dreams of feeding them an army. All that Alexey lives now is his beloved children, family and work.

Alexei Viktorovich Efentiev, the son of a hereditary soldier, was born in 1963.

1981-1982 - served as an emergency in the Navy in the Caspian. 1986 - graduated from the Baku Higher Combined Arms Command School. 1987-1988 - service in Afghanistan. The commander of the special forces. 1989-1992 - Head of Intelligence Regiment in Baku. 1992-1994 - Chief of Staff of a separate reconnaissance battalion in Germany. 1994-1999 - A separate army company of special forces in Voronezh. 1999-2000 - Commander of the Rusbat of the Russian peacekeeping battalion in Kosovo, commandant of the Slatina airfield. Behind the war: Afghanistan, Karabakh, Tajikistan, Chechnya, Kosovo.

After demobilization, he entered the famous Baku Higher Military Combined Arms Command School, and immediately after graduating from the rank of lieutenant was sent to Afghanistan. The bamut was taken by reconnaissance 166 brigade, which went around the mountains from the rear. On the approach to Bamut, the forward scout patrol ran into a detachment of militants, who also went to Bamut. During the battle, 12 militants were killed (the bodies remained abandoned). Private Pavel Naryshkin died and junior sergeant Pribylovsky was wounded. Naryshkin died saving the wounded Pribylovsky. The retreating Chechens went roundabout to Bamut and there began a panic over the “Russian special forces brigade in the rear” (radio interception). After that, the militants decided to break into the mountains on the right side of the gorge, where they fell on the advancing battalion of 136 MSBr. In the oncoming battle, about 20 militants were killed, the loss of 136 brigades - 5 people were killed and 15 were injured. The remnants of the militants were partially scattered, partly broke through and went into the mountains. About 30 more were jammed during the day when pursued by aircraft and artillery. It was a detachment of scouts of the 166th brigade that entered the first in Bamut. It was these contractors who were filmed in the report of Nevzorov.

Actually in Bamut itself there was no battle at all. At this point, the militants rushed from there full speed and the heavy battle was on the side of the gorge, where Bamut blocked 136 MSBr. I wrote about him. The “fight” for Nevzorov, indeed, was shot two days after the capture of Bamut at the request of scouts who wanted to “perpetuate” their feat. They shot, by the way, well. Against the background of the then pro-Chechen "chernukha" - it was great!

Konstantin Masalev (Kostya Pitersky): And yet we took the Bamut! When the detachment defending Bamut was ambushed during the movement (between the bridge and the ford), after the battle there was no one to defend the fortress, and when they entered Bamut, there were already only a few fighters with mortars and dshk (they then left towards Ingushetia). So they took it. Truth be told, the militants really held Bamut for a long time, but to fight the empire is a thankless task ...

Two months later, Gyurza and his people were the first to make their way to Grozny to a focal point surrounded by militants. For this feat he was introduced to the title of Hero of Russia, but only to this day, the performance goes somewhere ...

When unfired contract soldiers come to war, they don’t even know which side the bullet flies from. So that the soldiers did not shy away from the shots, the commander equips Kalashnikov with live ammunition and pours bursts over the heads of his subordinates. If the staff find out about such an original technique, the officer will be put on trial. But in Chechnya, they profess different rules. To win, one must be desperate and merciless.
Chechen fighters called this reconnaissance mad so that they would not be confused with infantry, commandos wore black armbands. This was a challenge, contempt for death, which hunted on their heels. They always went first and accepted the battle, even when numerical superiority was not on their side. They could fight against the magpie in every possible way and get out of the battle with the victors. In April 96, near Belgatoi, the machine gunner Romka, shooting at point-blank range, went at full height to the firing point, like Alexander Matrosov. He, already killed, was pulled out of the battle by Kostya Mosalev, who later in the film "Purgatory" under the nickname St. Petersburg Nevzorov will withdraw.
Twenty days later, as soon as the wound is healed, Kostya will run away from the hospital to catch the second Bamut attack. Former policeman, school teacher, grave digger, miner. Who just was not in this frantic intelligence. The war brought them together, people of different professions and ages, like a kind of gambling without end and beginning. Strange thing - they homesick, but barely healed the wounds, they were drawn again here - to drag around the mountains, share with each other a can of canned food, the last cartridge and their own life.

“I remember them all. "
Alexey Efentiev was the last commander of a mad company. This is he, the very legendary Gyurza.

Not at all like the cinematic image of the "commando" in Kevlar armor, which the author of the scandalous "Purgatory" fashioned. These frames are seven years old. The troops of the group have just taken Bamut, the shootout has not yet died out, and the scouts stopped, not particularly happy with the victory, because they lost Pashka - the second issue of the machine gun crew.

I’ve been here recently, but I’m going with the guys. Over the past 7 days, the people have been shocked ... It’s a pity that they only lost the lad ...
I had a real man in my company - Petrovich, for me he was both a father and a faithful companion ...

Here he is - Petrovich in frames shot seven years ago in the vicinity of Bamut.
  I'm from Smolensk.
Do you think we are fighting right here?
-I believe that we are fighting correctly.
  For what?
-What they did before this war, it will never be forgiven. Therefore, this scum has long had to be burned with a hot iron.
And there in Moscow the democrats stubbornly shout that the Chechens are fighting for their land, that they are good ..?
“And these Democrats need to be brought here someday so they can see what these militants are doing here.” Our fellow countryman of Smolensk was mutilated beyond recognition, tortured, skin was removed with rags from the back. How can I forgive them for this? There is no forgiveness for them.
Such - wise men were the backbone of his company. And in each he most appreciated the character. I read the real Russian character, which I used to be in my childhood, in the story of Alexei Tolstoy.

There was such a moment that we captured a Chechen, a militant, well, at first we wanted ... Well, like in war time ... But a few days later, Andrei himself, who was the most difficult in relation to them, said: “Come on, commander, let him go, that he is our sweetheart? ”Nehai lives - they let us go. Andryukha died at the hands of a sniper in Grozny - a hit in the head. And there was a teacher who taught literature with Russian in a school in the Bryansk region. It’s a little hard for me to recall all this ... But just their character, scorched by the winds of war, emerges as a real Russian character.

At that moment when we released this militant - he was a young 18-year-old guy, at first he thought maybe my son would be pitied on such fire roads. To some extent, it seemed to me that I was also the father of this Chechen. I was sincerely pleased with a hand on my heart. I let him go and my soldiers wished him not to fight in the future. In unpaid debt, he is before us. I was just shocked, frankly glad that here he is - a real Russian character.

It’s hard ... I even cried ... I’ll say that the BMP that I had received 8 holes from a grenade launcher. I have lost my best people. It happened…
Alexei was introduced to the title of Hero, but the authorities wanted to forget about the shame of those days as quickly as possible, and this performance was lost in the Kremlin offices. Today he is bitterly reminded of that time. Because those whom the war spared were not needed by the country. The special-purpose company, which he made the best unit of the special forces of the armed forces, was disbanded on the eve of the second Chechen campaign.

Once upon a time, Nevzorov made a very strong and scary film about the Chechen war - Purgatory. Many heroes of that film had real prototypes. In continuation of short stories about how it was

Grigorashchenko

Igor Andreevich Grigorashchenko was born on May 12, 1968 in the city of Przhevalsk of the Kyrgyz SSR.
In 1994, he graduated from the Chelyabinsk Tank School.

In Chechnya - the commander of a tank platoon 135th Omsbr (military unit 64201). In Mozdok, he met his classmates who fought, and asked to be transferred to them (74 Omsbr, military unit 21005). First, he was taken by an operator to a captured tank. At first, he guarded the command post of Rokhlin. 1, then became the commander of a tank platoon. 2 In Grozny he changed three tanks, and after they burned down, he became an infantryman

He died on January 8, 1995 in Grozny. He was hit by a mine fragment when he descended into the hatch of a tank.
Lieutenant Grigorashchenko is buried in Prokhladny. He was awarded posthumously the Terek Cossack Cross “For battles in Chechnya”, 1st degree, and the silver cross “For the revival of the Orenburg Cossacks”.

Kostya Pitersky

In the black armband, this is not Cobra, but Max, the machine gunner. This Nevzorov muddied in due time.

"Kostya Pitersky" - he also came up with. And Cobra - this was the call sign of our summer.

at that time this flyer was a company commander

and Gyurza - the head of intelligence brigade, he had his own platoon - a platoon of the head of intelligence

The guy from the second baht mocked a sewing machine - you bring him two liters and a raincoat, and he sewed an unloading on order. The officers brought their own with them, someone went on holiday at various military agencies, and the boy from Transnistria showed me how to build an unloading from the “Afghan woman” - cheaply and tastefully. And on vacation, then my mother sewed a good thing for me .. in short, the need for inventions is cunning.

For the soldiers and officers of the 90s, “Gyurza” is the same symbol of military honor and hero, as political veteran Klochkov or senior lieutenant Konstantin Olshansky used to be for veterans of the Great Patriotic War.

All the years of service, Efentiev invariably refused staff posts, remaining a combat officer, being faithful to his beloved "special forces" ...

He left the army not of his own free will.

When the bureaucrats from the GOMU disbanded a separate company of "special forces", to which Aleksey gave all the last years, creating it practically from scratch, from scratch, and making it the best company of "special forces" of the Ground Forces, he was again offered an official chair in the headquarters, but Efentiev did not accept the "comforting" position and wrote a report on dismissal ...

What usually happens with the former military? Some kind of quiet private security company or gatehouse at the garages - where far away from the hustle and bustle of the retirees earn a small "weld" for retirement. But that was not Alexey. Well, it was impossible to imagine Efentiev as guarding someone’s warehouse, or asleep in a booth at the barrier. And thirty-eight years is not the age of a pensioner, even if you have long been an “old man” by length of service.

Probably, for many six years ago, Alexei’s decision to engage in agriculture was almost a shock. Well, the image of a brilliant officer, a true “commando” dog of the war, with peaceful digging in the ground, sowing, harvesting, traveling through fields, hayfields and fertilizers did not fit in any way.

It seemed that Efentiev simply froze, got confused by the empty enthusiasm that this would pass soon. But six months passed, spring passed, the time for the first harvest came, and on the granaries of the Donskoye farm in the Ramonsky district of the Voronezh region suddenly, with a wave of a magic wand, mountains of selected grain grew. His, Efentievsky, grain, planted and grown by him on this earth.

And then suddenly, with piercing clarity, it became clear - for Efentiev this land is serious and for a long time. And as once in the ranks, in the war he could not be “just a major”, but only the best, only the first, only the very best, and on earth he could not afford to be an occasional guest, a capricious hobby - only the best, only the first. And now his desktop is littered with books on agronomy, land use, economics. He darts around exhibitions and elite seed farms. On his MTS until late in the evening the lights go out - mechanics sort out and restore equipment, repair tractors, combines, seeders, reapers, mowers ...

In just two years, the devastated backward state farm has become one of the best farms in the Voronezh region.

And yet, even for many of his friends, his choice of work was a surprise.

Why land, why agriculture? Here is how he himself once answered this question: “I went into the reserve in 2000. And I think: what's next, where? He began to wonder: my mother is an agronomist, my father-in-law was the chairman of the collective farm for many years. In agriculture, I did not understand anything. But I love my land. The land in the war saved me many times, I dug into it, pressed into it. And how many times did he ask God to protect me? From somewhere in the soul I heard the call of my ancestors and decided. Labor on earth is an interesting, creative affair. There is an opportunity to make money. It is only necessary to plow on it properly. Life experience, including the military, of course, came in handy. The situation is generally similar. What is an army? Get up early, lie down late, constantly working with people, are in tension. The same is true in agriculture. And all the time with people and in motion: one field, another. With technology, the same problems as in the army. The same tracks and wheels ... So I became the director of an agricultural enterprise. "

Of course, one in the field is not a warrior. Here, in the former state farm, and now LLC Donskoye, Alexey did not come alone. He brought an entire team with him. His former colleagues, brothers in the war, with whom he walked along the front lines of Chechnya, Kosovo, and Karabakh. And it was with a team of like-minded friends, he was able to do the impossible - to revitalize the earth, to raise fields overgrown with shrubs and thistles, to return life to virtually dead villages.

But far from all, the enthusiasm of the former intelligence officer fell on the gut. To some, the poverty and despair of the peasants, their degradation and wildness, were too beneficial.

Not everything didn’t work right away, not everything that he planned did. Here’s how Alexey says about this time and about himself: “The most valuable thing is my team, or rather, our team, with which we came to the village all together, as we went to reconnaissance. As you can see, intelligence has succeeded, even launched a large-scale offensive! The offensive on drunkenness, on unemployment, on agrarian ignorance and devastation.

Of course, we came to the land, not like an oil well - pump yourself money and shove it into accounts until the oil runs out. And this is our main life position and moral principle. We always remember that the earth is a House, not a Shop. The main thing is not what we get on earth: crops, numbers, production indicators, but how we will live on it! ”

Over the years, the economy has long risen from its knees, from a loss-making one sitting head over heels in debt, it has turned into a developing profitable business, and has gained strength. There are certain hopes in this regard also in connection with the implementation of the national project in the field of agriculture.

But not only the profit in the head of the CEO - that’s what the post of Efentiev is now called. Working on the earth, Alex does not forget about the people living on this earth. In his central branch - the village of Bogdanovo, he built sports towns, two gyms, a dance floor. The building was purchased and repaired under a first-aid post, which has not been here since 1992.

Efentiev Alexey Viktorovich, - General Director of the agricultural enterprise Donskoye LLC. Chairman of the Voronezh Regional Branch of the Agrarian Party.

Alexey Efentiev belongs to that unique stratum of our society, which, without any doubt, can be called the "national elite". Whatever he does, he can do his job just fine, only with superlative degrees of determination. He does not know how to be second, he does not know how to give in to difficulties. And his talent is not the talent of a destroyer, although he spent almost ten years of his life in wars and in “hot spots”. Efentiev is a true harmonizer, creator. And his choice of peaceful work is only proof of the huge positive potential that lies in him.

And Alexey - a true patriot of Russia. How many times have tempting offers been made to go abroad. To Europe, Israel, Asia, where they were ready to be taken by a leading instructor in large training centers for private security guards, in security companies, but he stayed in Russia, he chose probably the hardest and most ungrateful craft of a farmer and built his future with his own hands ...

He is a true hero of our time. Warrior, plowman, sage.

We are standing in a half-empty hangar, where until recently the harvest of the last year was stored. Now, under the tarpaulin awning, only heaps of elite seed wheat. The one that will lie on the ground in the spring to become a new crop by the fall. Alexei scoops it with his palm, carefully, like fingers of a child, kneads in the fingers ...

Do you know that Russian grain feeds Afghanistan? It is purchased through the UN and exported to Afghanistan. Maybe my grain ...

Why are we still respected in Afghanistan? Yes, because we never fought against the people. We did not organize any “crusades” for the “modernization” of Islam, as the Americans do today. Yes, we fought with dushmans, sometimes very cruelly, but we always saw people in the Afghans, we were always ready to sit at the same table with them, share bread, and make peace. We built schools, power plants, factories for them, imported bread, flour, medicines. We tried to build a peaceful life. And the Afghans remember that ...

I keep in my heart the names of all the wonderful commanders, those with whom I am fortunate to serve and the acquaintance with whom I am proud. Generals Vasily Vasilievich Prizemlin, Vladimir Anatolyevich Shamanov, Vladimir Ilyich Moltenskoy, Valery Evgenievich Evtukhovich - people who have greatly influenced me.

I remember all my soldiers. I was not a “kind” commander - I know that many soldiers were afraid of me and scolded me for their eyes, but those who went through the war with me evaluate my exactingness and rigidity in a completely different way. And I am not ashamed to look into the eyes of any of my subordinates. And I sincerely love and respect so many of them. In the Smolensk region lives ordinary Afghan war Alexander Kirienko, awarded the orders of the Red Star, Courage, three medals "For Courage". He is disabled. Life is not easy for him. It would seem that such people should be a guideline for society. However, it’s often difficult for them to settle in a peaceful life ...

I look at the golden trickle of grain flowing through my fingers, and remember how in Bamut his palm lay heavily and rigidly on the Kalashnikov’s steel, and it seemed that the machine was just an extension of his hand - tough, precise, ruthless. But now the grain, pouring on a high pile, suddenly softened it, made it some kind of stressed, peasant, solid, the one that they are building and sowing ...

- ... Russia is a great power. It is impossible to imagine it as the quiet provincial backyards of Europe. Those who see such a future for her are simply naive and do not understand either her energy or her place in world history. And no matter how today someone in Europe or overseas is reigned from hatred towards us, no matter how many “political scientists” and “experts” bury us, but Russia is rising, Russia is being reborn. And it can only be a real Empire. There simply cannot be any other Russia.

What in the future? What will I do?

The fact that I know how - to benefit my Russia. She is my main personal business!

And also raise children. I have three sons, and I want them to graduate from the special forces faculty, become Russian officers, real defenders of Russia. The place of a real man is in the army ...

So much has been written and written so much about the heroes of the first Chechen one so that it is just right to compile a large directory with a complete list of the exploits of that war. However, the legendary special-purpose company of the 166th separate motorized rifle brigade entered the history of military operations not by chance. The militants, who until recently resisted the onslaught of the Russian military, called this company "mad".
About misconceptions
The boldest military operations during the first Chechen campaign were accepted, rightly or not, to be attributed to the GRU special forces. Partly due to such glory, the GRU special forces of the General Staff owe the film "Purgatory" about the events in Chechnya, where Russian soldiers are shown in the role of some sort of torn-heads. For some strange coincidence, after the scandalous feature film was released, the intelligence company of the 166th motorized rifle brigade was attributed to the GRU special forces. However, the "mad" in the special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff never entered and could not enter by definition. The Gyurza company often worked side by side with GRU fighters, but it was never listed as part of this special unit.
Another subject of debate among the townsfolk and everyone who was interested in military operations during the first Chechen period was the company commander himself, Major Aleksey Efentiev, with the call sign "Gyurza". In the heat of controversy and an abundance of information, he is called the "only" commander of the reconnaissance company, but in reality Efentiev was the last to command the company until it was disbanded. The military, who had long since retired, said that Efentiev’s first acquaintance with the company was not easy. The nature of the fighting, their severity and fierce resistance on the part of the militants, and the complex character of the fighters also affected.
Gyurza

Efentiev himself in numerous interviews, “covering” him in the wake of military glory, never spoke of himself as a special person and never considered himself a hero. However, Efentiev’s colleagues, and simply those who came across him, sometimes by accident, in Chechnya say that the uncompromising and toughness of the major caused discomfort only to those who did not understand why they were holding weapons in their hands. However, it was precisely for Gyurza, a graduate of the Baku Higher Combined Arms Command School, that not only the call sign recognizable by radio was assigned, but also another nickname that arose not from scratch.
Until the moment when he took command of a separate reconnaissance company of the 166th Motorized Rifle Brigade, Efentiev managed to serve in Afghanistan immediately after leaving school. From 1987 to 1988, Gyurza commanded an intelligence group. It was then, according to those who were familiar with Efentiev, the playful nickname “Lesha - the golden hoof” was entrenched in him. By some almost animal instinct, Efentiev knew how to determine the direction of enemy fire by sound and “measured” the distance to the object by eye. The military says that rare commanders possess such abilities - about one out of a hundred people. It is hard for a simple person to understand why such a feeling and a unique army “chuyka” are difficult to understand, but where “Gyurza” led his group, there were never any losses.

“You need to feel the war, to be in the center of the battle. Understand that the machine is not just a piece of iron, but your working tool, your best friend. It’s like being a great race car driver and feeling every, even the smallest, change in the behavior of a car on the track, ”said former intelligence officers.
Another feature of the service under the command of "Gyurza" was the training of newly arrived contractors in the company. Unfired, having served only military service, recruits often did not understand where the enemy “works” from. Such miscalculations could cost fighters life, therefore, "Gyurza" and the squad leaders taught the "young" on the spot, arranging short training sessions with live firing. For such initiatives, Efentiev himself and his subordinates could easily go to the tribunal, but saving lives in that war was put above the established rules - delay could lead to irreparable consequences.
Combat brigade
The basis of the Gyurza combat group was not youths who first took the machine in their hands, but rather seasoned, life-taught, and in their own way wise, simple Russian men. The backbone of reconnaissance was absolutely different people with completely different fates. Former policeman, grave digger at the cemetery, teacher, miner. However, all of them, gathered by fate in one place and arrived to fight for their homeland, voluntarily did their job as real professionals. Mature men showed boyish agility when it was required by a combat mission, and enormous human experience in short moments of calm. The main humorist in the company was Mitroha, aka Dmitrich, a sniper who had been a shooter, machine gunner, and commander of the squad, a strong native of Ivanovo, and Petrovich, a former police captain, was considered the most experienced and reasonable. People of different ages in the battles in the Caucasus, a lot was connected, but the main ones were feelings of duty, need, importance and the need to be close to military comrades and the desire to “crush” the enemy to the last. Some of the Gyurza reconnaissance fighters did not really have time to recover from wounds, as they immediately fled from the hospital, grabbing only their pants and a shirt. This is exactly what Kostantin Mosalev is remembered for, whom in the film “Purgatory” the director awarded the nickname “Kostya Pitersky”. In fact, Mosalev’s nickname in the detachment was “Skull”. Because of the characteristic, standing out from the general mass of a black bandana with white skulls. Mad

The militants did not like to contact the intelligence company. They knew - they would drive to the last. It is not known who nicknamed Efentiev’s company “mad”, but the nickname is densely “stuck” not only among Chechen fighters, but also among tankmen, special forces and even staff officers. As soon as the radio talked about the battle of the "mad", it immediately became clear - there was a real battle going on somewhere. The "mad" rushed into the battle without thinking. Instincts and the ability to beat the enemy worked not with numbers, but with skills. Rota Efentieva could fight against forty fighters in every possible way and emerge victorious, and always, according to those who caught the events in Bamut and Grozny, drove the enemy to the last. Besides dozens of raids deep into Basayev’s positions, there is intelligence on the account of Efentiev and the release operation or, more correctly, a rapid breakthrough through the encircled Coordination Center in Grozny, which is entirely occupied by militants. Thanks to this risky and, according to many experts, impossible from the point of view of the security of the operation group, not only high-ranking officers, but also many Russian journalists were saved. However, the Grozny feat happened two months after another significant event.

The special professionalism of "Gyurza" and the entire "frantic" company, most of the military noted in the actions to liberate Bamut. It was the intelligence of the 166th brigade that went around the militants in the mountains and left them "in the back." Faced with the advance detachment, the scout patrol entered the battle, “putting” 12 bandits. The surviving militants rushed to Bamut, from where they began, from where they began to report on the “intelligence brigade” in their rear areas via radio communications. Largely thanks to the reconnaissance of the 166th brigade and the actions of the 136th MSBR, which took a heavy battle on the slope of the gorge, Bamut himself was able to recapture relatively easily. The company itself, under the command of Major Efentiev, even after the disbandment on the eve of the second Chechen, thanks to the personnel and personal qualities of each soldier , still remains one of the most combat-ready army units in the recent history of the Russian Armed Forces.
