Normal load is a load that is created during intermittent operation, each cycle of which consists of a period of continuous operation of 1 min and a break of 1 min, during which the machine is turned off. The load applied to the machine during periods of uninterrupted operation must be such that the power input in watts is equal to the rated power input.
NOTE During this test, it is permissible to replace the clutch with a rotating gear, allowing the motor to be loaded with rated power input by means of the brake.

This standard refers to a set of standards that establish safety requirements for hand-held electrical machines and methods for their testing.
This standard is used in conjunction with GOST R IEC 60745-1-2009 "Hand-held electric machines. Safety and test methods. Part 1. General requirements ", which is identical to the international standard IEC 60745-1: 2006" Hand-held electric tools driven by an electric motor. Security. Part 1. General requirements ".
This standard specifies specific safety requirements and test methods for screwdrivers and impact wrenches that supplement, modify or replace the relevant clauses, subsections, clauses, tables and figures of IEC 60745-1: 2006.
Section numbers, clauses, tables and figures correspond to those given in IEC 60745-2-2: 2008. Clauses complementary to IEC 60745-1: 2006 are numbered starting with 101.

The machine must operate in intermittent mode for 30 cycles or until a state of thermal equilibrium (steady state) is reached, whichever is reached first. Each cycle consists of a 30 s run period and a 90 s rest period during which the machine is turned off. During operation, the machine is braked to the rated power input or rated current input. The temperature rise is measured at the end of the 30th "On" period. By agreement with the manufacturer, the machine can operate in a continuous mode until a state of thermal equilibrium (steady state) is reached.
The impact mechanism can be disabled to prevent damage to the brake.

Impact wrenches are tested as follows:
The impact wrench must operate at intermittent operation for 12 hours at a supply voltage equal to 1.1 of the rated voltage, and then for 12 hours at a voltage equal to 0.9 of the rated voltage.
The wrench can be turned on and off using a switch in addition to the one built into the machine.
Each duty cycle consists of an On-position period of 100 seconds when the machine is idling and an Off-position period of 20 seconds, with the duration of the break included in the prescribed working time.
During the above test, the wrench is placed in three different positions, with a working period at each test voltage of approximately 4 hours for each position.
Thereafter, the impact wrench shall operate under intermittent operation for 12 hours at a supply voltage equal to 1.1 of the rated voltage, and then for 12 hours at a voltage equal to 0.9 of the rated voltage under the following conditions.
In each working cycle, the impact wrench operates in an impact mode for 1 s and in a disconnected state for 9 s, with the break time included in the prescribed working time.
During this test, replacement of brushes is allowed and the wrench is lubricated as in normal use.
If, during the test, the striking mechanism fails and the parts of the machine accessible to touch are not energized, the striking mechanism may be replaced.
If the temperature rise of any part of the wrench is greater than the temperature rise measured during the test of 12.1, forced cooling or rest periods are provided that are not included in the prescribed operating time.
During these tests, the overload protection devices shall not trip.

With a two-speed gearbox, the first speed (up to 450 rpm) allows you to work on twisting / unscrewing self-tapping screws, and the second speed (up to 1400 rpm) makes it possible to use a screwdriver as a drill.

Today on the market there are screwdrivers equipped with rechargeable batteries several different types- lithium-ion, nickel-metal hydride and nickel-cadmium. Which one is better and why?
The most popular batteries today are nickel-cadmium and lithium-ion batteries.
Each battery type has its own advantages and disadvantages, which may affect the overall impression of the instrument as a whole. What are the features of different types of batteries and what to look for before buying?
Without going into the jungle of electrical concepts, you can advise for regular work to purchase a drill-screwdriver with a nickel-cadmium battery, which has two batteries in its configuration - while one is working, the other is being charged.
One of the main disadvantages of a Ni-Cd battery is the need to completely discharge it during operation, and then also fully charge it. When not in use, a charged Nickel-Cadmium battery will quickly lose charge. In addition, such a battery that is not recharged to full charge, after lying idle for a while, may lose capacity.
Lithium-ion batteries are believed to hold a charge longer between jobs and do not need to be fully discharged — they can be recharged even if they are not fully discharged.
But nickel-cadmium batteries have one more advantage - they can be used at slight negative temperatures.
Characteristics of screwdrivers
Battery voltage
The torque directly depends on the supply voltage of the screwdriver. The higher the voltage, the greater the maximum torque, the easier it is to tighten a self-tapping screw of a large diameter and length or drill a hole of the required diameter.
Screwdrivers are equipped with batteries with a supply voltage of 9 to 36 volts. The lowest voltage will only allow you to screw a sheet of drywall to the profile. If you plan to work on the installation of wooden structures, drilling holes, tightening long screws of large diameter, where significant effort is required, then you should choose a tool with a supply voltage of at least 12-14 volts.
Torque
Torque is one of the most important characteristics of a screwdriver. The more power the power tool is able to develop, the easier it will be to tighten or unscrew self-tapping screws of large diameters or lengths, as well as drill holes.
Torque is measured in newtons per meter (Nm). For domestic use, a screwdriver with a torque of 10-15 Nm is enough. But for jobs that require significant effort, this torque may not be enough. In this case, you should take a closer look at professional-class models that develop a torque of up to 40-60 Nm. There are cordless screwdrivers with a maximum torque of 130 Nm.
The torque is regulated on the screwdriver with a special ring, the torque value should be set in such a way that the splines of the screws are not crumpled when they are tightened with the required force to the stop.
Other characteristics
Drilling diameter, number of speeds, the presence of an impact mechanism - all this should be selected based on the need. Do not overpay for a 36 mm drill / driver with a percussion mechanism and 120 Nm torque if you only plan to screw a couple of sheets of corrugated board to a pitched roof.
Also, when purchasing a cordless screwdriver, pay attention to the complete set - the presence of a replaceable battery, a plastic carrying case, the presence of a belt for the screwdriver, as well as various replaceable attachments.
