The result of our work will be the creation of an integrated environment that provides the student and teacher throughout the study and stay on campus with modern technological solutions and means at the level of leading world universities.
“I wonder how the Electronic University system itself works?”
“The whole system is based on a single integrated bus with a common database. The contactless chip integrated with a bank card becomes the single key that allows you to access all the university’s resources - this is the so-called campus card that every student and employee of the university has. The campus card provides access to all campus infrastructure facilities - from admission to the university and making an appointment with a doctor at the medical center to printing a dissertation on a powerful printing device.
The peculiarity of the created system is precisely in that it covers absolutely all aspects of life in a university. All educational resources and “campus” services of the university are fully accessible for any student and employee who is connected to the Internet portal of the “Electronic University”. Figuratively, the system allows teachers and students, "at their fingertips" to have all the information about the situation in the university.
- At what stage is the implementation of the plan now? What has the team of the Electronic University project already managed to do?
- The introduction of the “Electronic University” began in 2011 with the transition to electronic document management. Today, this will not surprise advanced universities, but there were no electronic document management in those four universities that were part of the FEFU. Last year, in FEFU, the creation, approval, signing, control over the execution of all documents took place electronically. A system for ordering inquiries, for example, about income, through the internal portal of the campus has already been prepared for launch. The Anti-plagiarism module of the Blackboard integrated e-learning platform has been launched - we plan to use it to collect and verify written work for plagiarism. It would seem that all this can be posted on a university-wide website, but in this case, each category of users receives information intended specifically for it.
In addition, the “personal account” is also a new communication format, an analogue of a social network. Any of the users here can organize communities, inviting new members there. By the way, through the “personal account” you can also go to the electronic library catalog to select literature both in the regular university library and in digital (in FEFU there is a large collection of electronic full-text publications).
